Photo Radar is becoming increasingly common in many cities. It may take the form of a camera attached to a traffic light or even a non descript minivan equipped with cameras. There is, of course, a huge market for products to protect people from these photo radar tickets. Some inventions include: plastic covers for your license plate that bend away the light causing the photo to be overexposed, sprays which obscure your plate, and even linseed oil which attracts dust hence not allowing a clear picture of your plate. However, there remains the question of legality regarding these products. Under the Colorado Drivers Handbook in Section 7.6 it states:license plates must be visible and be kept free of debris and foreign materials. This seems to leave room for most of these products. There is also the option of fighting tickets which some have accomplished successfully.
So when in doubt fight it. Good Luck!
